East Coast
All go this weekend with a Subtopo Low dropping onto NZ, this will bring a quick rising East short period wind swell to E/NE exposed beaches peaking around mid day Christmas Eve.
There will be a ton of wind with it (E/SE), and the swell is looking to peak in the 3-4ft range + at East / Southeast exposed swell magnets. Look for a southwest change Wednesday.
Will it stick around for Xmas day? Looks like as that low spins down and tracks SE there will be a super strong offshore change (W/SW) overnight on Xmas Eve which could blow out most the swell for Xmas day - being short period wind swell it won't have the punch or fetch to withstand the offshore hammering. We'll keep this blog updated this week.
West Coast
West Coast is looking real nice with those EC onshores blowing offshore out West, so fun clean small waves for West Coast exposed swell magnets for early this week (Mon / Tuesday and maybe Wed morning).
Then looking for a fresh pulse of new WSW groundswell for Xmas day on with a west / southwest wind change along with it.

Gret site very usefull. Just wondering if the water temp was correct for chch? Just been out in boardies for the 1st time in ages and it seems warmer than 13deg.Keep up the good work.
